Class Description:

We will go through the process of writing, laying out, penciling and inking a 5 to 10 page comic. We will have finished comics by our last week of class. The finished comics will be collected (by me), scanned and organized into an anthology (collection) of all of our mini comics. We will publish this collection and you will each receive a copy free (included with the class thanks to our excellent library).

Introductions and Agreements 
Assignment for next week: Know the beginning and ending of your story

Week 2 - Feb 4
Setting, Scenes & Characters 
Assignment for next week: Bring in your first full draft of your story

Week 3 - Feb 11
Finalize the story 
Assignment for next week: Bring in final draft of story & layouts.

Week 4 - Feb 18 
Art - Phase 1: Layouts and Pencils 
Assignment for next week: Complete all thumbnails / layouts / begin pencils

Week 5 - Feb 25
Art - Phase 2: Pencils  
Assignment for next week: Pencils complete

Week 6 - March 4
Art - Phase 3: Inking 
Assignment for next week: Pencils complete / begin inking

Week 7 - March 11 
Art - Phase 3: Inking / Finishing / The Cover 
Assignment for next week: Fully complete book

Week 8 - March 18
Share, Present, High Fives and Huzzahs. 
Assignment for next week: Get your completed book to Gio to scan for publishing*

*Please be patient for the final books. Gio will need to collect all the pages, scan them, edit them (if necessary), lay them out for publishing, and then get them printed and shipped. 
Expect the books by September/October of 2023.
